The Environmental Partnership Highlights Progress in Emissions Reductions in 2024 Annual Report

The Environmental Partnership recently released its 2024 Annual Report, highlighting significant progress in emissions reductions by the oil and natural gas industry. Through the Partnership’s eight environmental performance programs, which span the entire energy supply chain, member companies have achieved measurable improvements.

As the Partnership’s membership has grown, so have its efforts to address a broader range of emissions sources. Notably, in 2023, member companies demonstrated their ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship by reducing flare intensity by 6.6 percent and total flare volumes by 10 percent compared to the previous year. Since 2019, the Partnership’s member companies have collectively reduced reported flare volumes by more than 75 percent, even as oil and natural gas production has increased.

These achievements are a testament to the industry’s dedication to innovation and improvement. Technologies like those featured at TMFC’s partnership event, the Energy Elevated Technology Showcase, are at the forefront of this progress, driving the development of solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the oil and natural gas sector. By bringing together producers and innovators, events like these play a crucial role in fostering a more sustainable future.

The Environmental Partnership, whose members represent nearly 70 percent of U.S. onshore oil and gas production, plays an instrumental role in supporting companies in their efforts to improve the industry’s environmental performance. This commitment, along with the work of the Texas Methane & Flaring Coalition, ensures continued environmental progress both in Texas and nationwide.
